The Treatment

What Is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 combines radiofrequency and microneedling to remodel tissue on both your face and body. InMode describes it as a fractional skin treatment that stimulates the underlying layers of the dermis: by targeting the deeper layers of the skin, tissues are triggered to reveal a more radiant, youthful appearance.

Coated needles enter the skin to a depth your provider selects, coagulating fat and contracting connective tissue beneath the surface while directional RF energy heats the dermis. The energy reaches less than 5% of the treated area, and the untreated skin between the pins helps the area heal faster.

According to InMode, Morpheus8 holds the first and only FDA clearance for soft tissue contraction for fractional radiofrequency microneedling, and more than 3.5 million Morpheus8 procedures have been performed worldwide.

How Many Treatments You'll Need

Patients usually need about three sessions to achieve their best results. This might vary depending on each patient's individual case and specific goals, and your provider will recommend the ideal number of sessions. InMode notes that sessions typically range from one to five and are repeated every 3 to 6 weeks.

Visible results can be seen within a few days, but the most noticeable results typically appear after three weeks, and improvements continue up to three months after treatment. Your results become more and more noticeable in time as your tissue reshapes itself.

Combination Treatments

Pairing Morpheus8 With Other Treatments

Morpheus8 can be used in the same treatment session as other treatments, or a few days after, and can be combined with other InMode energy procedures or injectables to achieve more extensive results. Other InMode treatments at Natural Results include FaceTite, BodyTite, and Define, and Morpheus8 is also available with PRP.

If you have dermal fillers or neurotoxin, tell us at your consultation. InMode advises against treating over recently injected filler until it has dissipated (up to six months), or over neurotoxin within the first 3 to 7 days, so we plan the timing of your treatments around them.

The Science

Why Fractional Radiofrequency?

According to InMode, radiofrequency energy is a scientifically proven method to stimulate collagen. Morpheus8 delivers it in a minimally invasive way, using a matrix of micro pins to target the deeper layers of the skin. In Burst mode, energy is delivered at selected depths within the same penetration cycle, and the most superficial layer receives reduced energy to protect the outer skin.

What to Expect

Every patient heals at their own pace. These milestones come from InMode's published guidance and our practice's own patient information; your provider will tailor aftercare to you.

  1. Day of treatment

    Slight redness immediately after treatment. Your skin is cooled after the session.

  2. First few days

    Micro lesions appear a few days after treatment. Some patients experience swelling, slight bruising, scabbing, or redness. Moisturize the area, avoid direct sun, and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

  3. First weeks

    With deep treatment settings, bruising typically resolves within 5 to 10 days. InMode notes that swelling can last 1 to 3 weeks and that any crusting exfoliates naturally within 1 to 3 weeks.

  4. 3 weeks

    The most noticeable results typically appear. When more sessions are planned, they are typically repeated every 3 to 6 weeks.
