An Introduction

Avéli is a minimally invasive treatment that targets the true, structural cause of cellulite: the fibrous septa bands that tether the skin and create dimples. Unlike creams and surface treatments that only address the appearance, Avéli identifies and releases these bands from beneath the skin in a single in-office session. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Carlos Mata (Dr. Scottsdale®) uses it to smooth dimpling on the thighs and buttocks with minimal downtime.

01
The Treatment

What is Avéli?

Avéli uses a small handheld device inserted through a tiny entry point to locate the fibrous septa bands responsible for each dimple. A light at the device tip confirms the precise location beneath the skin, and the band is then released so the skin can smooth out.

Because it targets and confirms each band individually, the treatment addresses cellulite at its source in a single session — distinct from surface energy devices or topical products.

What Happens

The Treatment Step-by-Step

Anesthesia — Performed under local anesthesia in our Scottsdale office — you're awake and comfortable.

Targeting — The device locates each tethering band; the illuminated tip confirms placement beneath the skin.

Release — Each band is released individually, smoothing the overlying dimple.

Recovery — A compression garment is worn briefly; most patients are back to routine within a day or two.

Frequently Asked

Common Questions

01How is Avéli different from other cellulite treatments?+

It targets the fibrous bands that cause dimples directly beneath the skin and confirms each one before releasing it, rather than treating the surface. That's why results are lasting from a single session.

02Is it painful?+

It's done under local anesthesia, so you're comfortable during treatment. Expect some bruising and tenderness for a few days afterward.

03How long do results last?+

Because the released bands don't re-tether, results are long-lasting. Maintaining a stable weight helps preserve the outcome.

04How soon can I return to normal activity?+

Most patients return to routine within a day or two, with bruising fading over the following week.
