What's the difference between MedSpa and surgical procedures?
Surgical procedures change physical structure, they remove tissue, reposition it, or place implants. Results are dramatic and long-lasting but involve recovery time. MedSpa treatments work at the surface or just beneath, stimulating your body's own healing and collagen production. Results are subtler and accumulate with time, with little to no downtime. Many patients use MedSpa to maintain surgical results.
Will I see results after one treatment?
It depends on the treatment. Some, like Botox or filler, show effects within days. Others, like Morpheus8 or Emsculpt, show progressive improvement over a series of treatments as collagen rebuilds. Your provider will set realistic expectations during the first visit.
Are the results permanent?
MedSpa results are typically not permanent. Skin tightening and resurfacing treatments slow the aging process but don't stop it. Most treatments require periodic maintenance, every 12-18 months for most modalities. The good news: you stack the benefit each time, so your skin stays years ahead of where it would otherwise be.
Can I combine MedSpa and surgical procedures?
Often, yes. Many patients pair facial surgery with skin resurfacing for more comprehensive rejuvenation. Liposuction is sometimes combined with skin tightening. Dr. Mata and Janneth will design a coordinated plan if that's the right approach for you.
