This knee contouring surgery gives the patient a younger and newer look for their knees without anesthesia.

Knee Lift Surgical Technique

The knee lift surgery is performed in our Scottsdale, AZ surgical office under local anesthesia, but patients can opt for IV or deep sedation if they prefer. The surgical procedure consists of making an incision in a crescent shape (moon shape) right above the knee. The incision will be hidden in the skin crease when standing up. The extra lax skin is removed via excision, and the incision is sutured with special dissolvable and permanent sutures. The knee will be tighter and the loose skin is gone.

Knee Lift Recovery

During the knee lift surgery’s recovery, the patient is advised to avoid bending their knees greater than 90 degrees for a month. Exercise is not recommended for at least 6 weeks after surgery. The knee incisions will be noticeable at first but will fade away with time (may vary depending on the patient’s skin and scar up-keep). In some cases, depending on the skin laxity and the patient’s goals & expectations, other treatments can be performed:

Less invasive procedure, Magic Tight® via Accutite can be performed under local anesthesia. Accutite is a small skin tightening device that uses a controlled and uniform bipolar radiofrequency energy to tighten loose skin. Dr. Carlos Mata aka Dr. Scottsdale® uses one to two tiny hidden incisions per knee to insert the small probe to tighten the skin without damaging tissues. This treatment is great for patients that have low to mild skin laxity problems.

MAGIC TIGHT® VIA VASER LIPOSUCTION

This knee lift alternative is great for patients that have skin laxity and excess fat in the knee area. The Vaser Liposuction will target the excess fat by removing it, and Magic Tight® via Accutite will aim to treat skin laxity. Dr. Carlos Mata aka Dr. Scottsdale® uses small hidden incisions to treat the knees. The procedure is performed under IV or deep sedation depending on the amount of excess fat and the patient’s goals.
