What is Magic Tight®?
Magic Tight® is a skin tightening process created by Dr. Scottsdale® also known as Dr. Carlos Mata that can target every part of your body, from the upper eye to saggy knees. Magic Tight® is often used in combination with Tumescent Vaser Liposuction to ensure great results, but can also be done by itself strictly to target skin laxity.
Dr. Scottsdale® will choose the perfect devices to address your skin laxity concerns based on your goals, expectation, and body area. Dr. Carlos Mata is a board-certified plastic surgeon and performs this procedure in-office under local, IV sedation or deep sedation (based on the body area).
How does Magic Tight® work?
Dr. Scottsdale® will use different devices and techniques for Magic Tight® based on the areas and skin laxity concerns. Here are the techniques that Dr. Mata uses for the different body areas:
MAGIC TIGHT® FOR THE BODY
Most of the time, Dr. Carlos Mata aka Dr. Scottsdale® uses Magic Tight® during his Scottsdale Skinny® and strongly advised it for any Vaser Liposuction surgery. Anytime you are getting liposuction, your skin will be looser due to the major fat removal. Treating skin laxity at the same time is the best way to ensure great long-term results. For the body areas like the abdomen, back, arms, and thighs, Dr. Mata uses the same technique and device.
#1 – Tumescent. Also known as numbing, this saline, lidocaine, and epinephrine solution numbs the entire area of work. It ensures pain & bleeding control and helps create tunnels under the skin for the Magic Tight®.
#2 – Vaser Liposuction. Vaser is an ultrasound energy device that breaks down fat cells, ensures smooth liposuction results, and helps partially with skin retraction. Afterward, a liposuction cannula is used to remove the fat. This process creates tunnels under the skin allowing Magic Tight® to be more effective by giving you better skin tightening results.
#3 – Magic Tight® with Renuvion. Also known as J-Plasma, this device uses cold plasma energy generated by helium and radiofrequency to target skin laxity. This skin tightening device is placed under the skin and tightens it with minimal scarring. The results can be seen immediately but the final results will be fully seen at the 6 months post-op mark.
This entire process ensures the patient to have the best results possible after their body liposuction! Adding Magic Tight® to your Vaser Liposuction is strongly advised by Dr. Mata!
MAGIC TIGHT® FOR THE NECK, CHIN & JAWLINE
Concerned about skin laxity on your face or a double-chin but not ready for major surgery? Magic Tight® on your neck, chin, and jawline area can be a great solution for you. Often done under IV or deep sedation (patient breathing on its own), this procedure has minimal downtime: 1 to 2 days (one week with a garment). Dr. Carlos Mata aka Dr. Scottsdale® uses one technique but chooses between two devices based on your goal and expectations:
#1 – Tumescent. A numbing solution to numb the entire area of work. It allows you to not feel pain during and after surgery, and create tunnels under the skin for the Magic Tight®.
#2 – Vaser. This ultrasound energy device breaks down fat cells, ensures smooth liposuction results, and helps create tunnels under the skin.
#3 – Magic Tight® with Facetite or Renuvion. The most used skin tightening device for the face by Dr. Carlos Mata aka Dr. Scottsdale® is Facetite. This controlled and uniform bipolar radiofrequency device allows to effectively tighten loose and saggy skin while melting the fat at the same time. Sometimes based on the patient’s starting point, uses Renuvion aka J-Plasma, a cold plasma device to target skin laxity.
#4 – Liposuction. At the end of the procedure, Dr. Mata uses a liposuction cannula to remove the melted fat.

MAGIC TIGHT® FOR THE SKIN LAXITY IN SMALL AREAS LIKE EYELIDS
Small areas can be jowls alone, knees, elbow, upper & lower eyelids, and hands. Magic Tight® can be done on these small localized areas via a specific device and technique:
#1 – Tumescent. To prevent any discomfort or pain, a numbing solution is injected prior to any work to numb the entire area. It allows you to do this procedure under local anesthesia (no sedation) and prevents you from feeling any pain during and after surgery.
#2 – Magic Tight® with Accutite. From the same family as Facetite, Accutite uses a controlled and uniform bipolar radiofrequency energy to tighten loose and saggy skin. The small probe allows Dr. Carlos Mata aka Dr. Scottsdale® to tighten the skin in the smallest areas without damaging tissues or requiring major incisions.
