Body
Procedures.

Body contouring is an architectural problem — proportion, balance, and the way light catches a refined silhouette. We approach it that way.

Dr. Mata's body work is known for its architectural balance — sculpting with attention to how the result reads from every angle, not just the front-facing photo. From tummy tucks to the signature Scottsdale Skinny™, every case is approached as a custom design.

Frequently Asked

Common Questions

What's the difference between liposuction and a tummy tuck?

Liposuction removes fat. A tummy tuck removes fat AND loose skin AND tightens the abdominal muscles. If your skin still has good elasticity and your concern is fat alone, lipo is enough. If you have loose skin, separated muscles after pregnancy, or a lower abdominal pouch that won't go away with weight loss, you likely need a tummy tuck. Dr. Mata will tell you honestly which one is appropriate.

Is BBL safe?

BBL has a deserved reputation for being one of the riskier cosmetic procedures historically, due to fat embolism risk during injection. Dr. Mata performs all BBL cases under ultrasound guidance, which dramatically reduces this risk by visualizing exactly where the fat is being placed in real time. The Scottsdale Skinny™ approach also limits the volume injected per session.

How much weight loss should I aim for before surgery?

Body contouring is for shaping a stable body — not for weight loss. We typically ask patients to be within 15-20 lbs of their stable weight, with at least 6 months of stability. Significant weight loss after surgery can change your results; significant weight gain can stretch surgical work. The goal is to operate on the body you're going to live in.

How long is recovery for body work?

Variable. Liposuction alone: most patients return to desk work in 5-7 days. Tummy tuck: 10-14 days off, no exercise for six weeks. Mommy makeover: 2-3 weeks off, exercise at 6-8 weeks. Final results show at 3-6 months as swelling fully resolves and the new contour settles.
