How AB Etching HD Liposuction Can Permanently Define Your Stomach and Confidence
Unwanted belly fat is a common problem among a large percentage of the population. Even if you are at a healthy weight or you have worked hard to reach a healthy weight, many people are left with a soft abdomen that lacks shape or definition. There is no guarantee of a super-toned stomach even when completing hours of exercise and living a healthy lifestyle. The good news is that there is a way of enhancing the appearance of your abdominal area that doesn’t involve living in the gym. It’s known as AB etching, HD Liposuction, 4D Liposuction, Pilates Highlights, and Gladiator® Etching.
What Is AB Etching?
Abdominal etching also goes by another name that is much more widely known – abdominal highlights. Liposuction can be performed on many areas of the body, including the abdominal area. Abdominal etching is a liposuction procedure that is designed to sculpt 8-packs and enhance the appearance of your muscles and create the defined, six-pack abs that are so highly sought-after.
The procedure itself involves removing fat deposits between each of the stomach muscles while leaving some on top of them. It also tightens the abdominal skin with Magic Tight® so that it adheres more closely to the contours of the underlying muscle. This highlights and enhances your natural underlying musculature, creating an appearance that is fitter, firmer, and more defined.
What to Expect From an AB Etching Procedure?
AB etching is generally performed as an outpatient, meaning that you will be able to go home the same day as your procedure. It is normally performed under deep sedation anesthetic, although you may be able to have sedation or even general anesthesia if you are particularly anxious.
Before your procedure, Dr. Mata and/or Dr. Benjamin will mark out the areas of your abdomen which will be sculpted using a marker pen. Then, once you are suitably anesthetized, the surgery can begin. This will involve making several small incisions in your abdomen, usually around the belly button. A thin, hollow tube called a cannula will be used to loosen the excess fat and remove it via suction. The cannula will be passed into the incisions and carefully manipulated by your surgeon to break up the fat deposits so that they can be removed easily. Dr. Scottsdale® or Dr. Benjamin will use their skill and experience to carefully sculpt your abdomen using this technique through each of the incisions that they have made.
At the end of your procedure, the incisions will be closed and secured with sutures. A compression garment will then be placed over the top of your dressings, and this will help to protect the treatment area, control swelling, and encourage skin retraction. You’ll be given specific instructions on how to best take care of your abdomen while it heals, but it’s normal to experience some swelling, bruising, and soreness. Avoiding general anesthetics will minimize the overall risk of more severe side effects.
You won’t see the results of your procedure right away. Instead, you will need to wait for the swelling and any fluid retention to subside. The results of your treatment should be visible within 8-10 weeks of your procedure and can last indefinitely if you maintain your weight through diet and exercise.
